Bob Valentine

Bob or Bobby as known by family and friends, was born October 25, 1936 in Seattle, Washington. Bobby's Angels took him home on January 18, 2018, with his wife of 45 years, Cheryl Anne, and his brother Jim at his side. His family moved to Lompoc, California in 1938 and for most of his life, Bob lived and worked in the Lompoc, Santa Ynez, and Buellton area.

Bob grew up in the 'Valley of the Flowers;' graduated from Lompoc High School; ran varsity track, and played violin in the school orchestra. After high school, Bobby took up acting in the Lompoc Civic Theater and kept his violin close by. Bob had a 'green thumb' and a passion for gardening with roses to envy and vegetables to enjoy. Bobby loved the central coastline and enjoyed fishing and underwater diving. Working around horses was a joy for him and feeding birds in his front yard. Bob was one of those friendly, unpretentious guys who always had kind words for everyone he met. He enjoyed long walks while visiting with neighbors and friends and had a gift for remembering people.

Bobby tackled life's events and did his best each day displaying a strong constitution, endurance and determination. As written in 2 Timothy 4:7, 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.' Thanks to all who kept Bobby in their thoughts and prayers.

Bob was preceded by his parents, Lawrence and Flora (McPhee) Valentine and grandmothers, Maude (Hubbard) Crewdson and Edna (Thomas) McPhee.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl Anne of Santa Maria, California, his brother Jim and wife Maria Valentine of San Antonio, Texas, his sister-in-law and husband Christine and Larry Downs, Bonita, California and loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is being planned.
