On August 30, 2017, David Eugene Marshall passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 73, with his adored wife of 51 years, Winnie, by his side. Born on August 11, 1944 to Lyman Clarence Marshall, a Firefighter with the City of San Bernardino Fire Department and Elsie “Lucille” (Jorgenson), a stay at home mom. David grew up in San Bernardino CA with his two brothers John and Paul.
In his younger years, David fondly recalled camping trips with his grandparents Lyman George and Mabel (Stine) Marshall. As well as numerous family get togethers in Newport Beach. David graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1963 and went on to work for the City of San Bernardino Public Works Department. David meet the love of his life Winifred Faye Clark in 1964 and they married on July 4, 1966 in Las Vegas NV. They had two children Wendi Renee, born in 1968, and David Lyman Eugene, born in 1970. While working for the Public Works Department, David also delivered newspapers for the Los Angeles Times and in 1982 he was offered a dealership in Lompoc CA. The family moved shortly after to begin his new job and be closer to his parents and grandparents who at that time lived in Pismo Beach CA.
David was a familiar fixture around Lompoc, always visiting with people as he collected papers and sharing funny stories. He delivered the Los Angeles Times in Lompoc for 30+ years, never missing a day of work.
David is survived by his wife Winnie, daughter Wendi (Tim) and son David (Suzanne), three grandchildren, Suzannie, Daniel, and Adam, and his brother Paul (Jo).
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lyman and Mabel (Stine) Marshall, parents Lyman and Lucille (Jorgenson) Marshall, and brothers George Thomas and John Michael Marshall.
