On Sunday, January 28, 2018, Lorenzo “Lodi” Gonzales Jr. passed away from this life to be with our Lord.

Lodi leaves behind his wife of 47 years Molly, son Lorenzo Gonzales III (Rachel), and daughter Paula Hannaford (Nathaniel). Lodi had two granddaughters (Ruby and Raya) and four grandsons (Elijah, Ezra, Lorenzo IV and Dominic). He also leaves behind his siblings, Nick, David (Beth), Michael (Debbie), John (Frances) and sister, Anna Gonzalez (Ben). Not to forget his nieces and nephew that he helped raise and loved them as his own, Marcella, Joni, Jessica, Angela and Nick.

Lodi was born in Lompoc on January 29, 1947, to Lorenzo and Juanita Gonzales. He was the oldest of seven children. When his father passed away in 1960, Lodi helped his mother provide guidance to his siblings. When his first child was born in 1970, he easily slipped into the role as father and continued taking care of family as he has always done. Lodi enjoyed fishing, golfing, walking and smoking a good cigar. However, the most important part of his life was the time he spent with his wife, Molly, his children, Lodi and Paula, and their families. Lodi enjoyed being with family. His weekdays and weekends were spent attending his grandchildren's sporting events. You could always find him watching basketball games, soccer games, and track events. In addition to spending time with his immediate family, Lodi could always be found enjoying time with his brothers, his sister and numerous other relatives that he had. Family was his life and he loved them all so much.

Lodi was a dedicated employee of the City of Lompoc where he started as a Sanitation worker and worked his way up to Water Distribution Supervisor. He retired in 2007 after 37 years of service.

Lodi was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Gonzales, mother, Juanita Gonzales, and Brother, Paul Gonzales.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2018, at 12 noon at Queen of Angels Church, 3495 Rucker Rd, Lompoc, CA.
