Hospital lecture canceled due to emergency

The Lompoc Hospital District Foundation was forced to cancel Wednesday evening's scheduled lecture that was to be led by gastroenterologist Dr. Rahim Raoufi at Lompoc Valley Medical Center.

The event was canceled due to an emergency involving Raoufi's family.

Raoufi was expected to address the impact of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS, a disorder that affects between 25 and 45 million people in the U.S. The lecture was part of the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation’s Community Education Lecture Series.

The foundation apologizes for any inconvenience the cancellation may cause, according to a spokesperson.
