Lompoc Mayor Bob Lingl invites the community to join him for a cup of coffee and conversation from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at South Side Coffee Co., 105 South H St.
Let the mayor buy you a cup of coffee while you let him know how you feel about things happening in Lompoc. Lingl said he'd like to hear opinions on the city's cannabis ordinance and whether residents believe the City Council should have a policy on code of conduct.
"This is your city; you need to speak up," Lingl said.
Relay for Life team to host 'Soup-A-Palooza'
Lompoc Relay for Life Team Git-R-Done will host a "Soup-A-Palooza" fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at La Purisima Parish Hall, 213 W. Olive Ave.
The event is billed as a soup-tasting extravaganza. There will be more than a dozen homemade soups and gourmet breads to taste, along with baked goods and a gourmet cooking basket raffle. Tickets are $10 apiece and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Vandenberg Village Lions Club to serve diners, help students
The Vandenberg Village Lions Club will serve diners for the 11th straight year Tuesday at Tom's "Home of the Educated Hamburger" in an effort to raise money for its scholarship fund.
The Tip-a-Lion event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 115 E. College Ave. Raffle prizes will also be given away during the event. All tips and money raised through the raffle will scholarships provided by the club to Cabrillo High School seniors, according to the club.

Adam to hold office hours at Vets Building
Santa Barbara County 4th District Supervisor Peter Adam will meet with constituents from 2 to 4:30 p.m. March 8 at the Lompoc Veterans Memorial Building, 100 E. Locust Ave., Suite 101.
Members of the community are invited to drop by to discuss any concerns or questions they may have about local county government.

LHS Alumni Association taking applications for scholarships
The Lompoc High School Alumni Association is accepting applications for three $1,000 scholarships that the organization will award this year to graduating seniors or graduates of Lompoc High School who are attending college or vocational school.
To be eligible, graduating seniors must have attended LHS for four years and must be the son/daughter of a member of the LHS Alumni Association. Applications will also be accepted for LHS graduates attending a university, community college or vocational school who are members of the LHS Alumni Association and enrolled in 12 units.
