There are many Muslim Americans with similar stories and when I hear of the prejudice and fear Mr. Mohabbat has had to deal with I can't help but feel a little ashamed. It's not his fault his religion has been hijacked and used to justify mass murder world wide.
But we have to live in the real world and that reality hit home in a horrific way at Fort Hood. Wether that guy was insane or a radical Islamic terrorist is irrelevant because to me they are the same thing.
I would only ask that Mr. Mohabbat understand how non-Muslim Americans feel and be patient with us while we try to figure out how to be fair to everyone while keeping everyone safe at the same time.
