Crews knocked down a tiny brush fire in about 30 minutes Saturday near Highways 1 and 135, just north of Graciosa Road. About a half-acre burned.

Santa Barbara County Fire responded with three engine companies, a battalion chief and a water tender, along with the California Highway Patrol and county sheriff's officials just after 12:40 p.m.

Aircrafts, dozers and additional crew were also requested but later canceled as firefighters were able to halve the forward progression within half an hour, according to Mike Eliason, County Fire public information officer.

Vandenberg Air Force Base officials were also alerted for mutual aid, but canceled.

The fire was reported next to a power station, but no structures are threatened at this time, according to dispatch reports.

The CHP temporarily shut down one lane of northbound Highway 135 to allow crews to battle the blaze.
