Armed with a guarantee for customers that their Christmas trees will survive the holidays, Terry and Cherri Vosberg are setting up a tree lot at the corner of East Clark Avenue and Bethany Lane in Orcutt.
The trees to be sold at the the Hopper Bros. lot aren't even cut yet, Terry said. They are to be harvested from their Cascades' home in Oregon next week, picked up by helicopters and shipped nearly frozen in trucks to be ready for sale late next week.
The Vosbergs are full-time RV residents, doing seasonal work as Christmas tree lot managers in the winter, and campground hosts in the Tetons, in Wyoming, in the summer. They have been running the Christmas tree lot for several years, first at the Santa Maria Fairpark and now in Orcutt.
Terry said Hopper Bros. will continue the tradition of discounting the Christmas trees $5 for a donation of toys or food for the Salvation Army this holiday season.
