The Lompoc Adult School and Career Center (LASCC) will open its doors for a Fall Welcome and Registration event from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the El Camino Community Center, 320 North J St.

The open house event will feature LASCC class registration, current program information and a preview of new classes soon to be offered. The El Camino campus includes the adult education classrooms, office, the new career center that is being established and other agencies and programs.

Current Adult School students are encouraged to attend the event and to bring friends, family members or neighbors, who may be interested in taking some of the existing or proposed classes.

LASCC currently offers a High School Diploma program and provides English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at beginning, intermediate and, now, advanced levels. There are also 2-D and 3-D SolidWorks Design and Manufacturing classes offered at the Lompoc High School campus.

New classes soon to be offered include Work Readiness, Career Exploration and Computer Basics. A Business Management Program now in development at LASCC will eventually feature career technical education classes for Business Technician/Office Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Bookkeeping/Accounting Clerk and Office Manager.

Anyone who wishes to get on an “interest list” for future program and course information is encouraged to contact LASCC at 742-3100.
