The Lompoc Public Library on Tuesday announced the debut of its new Local Authors collection.

This collection features both fiction and nonfiction works for children and adults, all written and illustrated by Central Coast authors and illustrators who donated their works to the library. Local Authors will be a permanent collection of the Lompoc Public Library, according to a city spokeswoman.

Lompoc Library Director Sarah Bleyl said the library is proud to feature the works of local writers.

“The Central Coast is home to countless talented authors, and we are honored to support these writers by featuring their works alongside the great literary classics,” she said. “We encourage community members to come in and take a look at our (Local) Authors collection. It is our hope they will enjoy these books as much as we do.”
