A Lompoc man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine after Santa Barbara County sheriff's officials discovered 84.6 grams of the substance at a residence on the 600 block of North Fourth Street in Lompoc.

Detectives with the sheriff's Special Investigations Bureau and Compliance Response Team conducted a probation search and arrested Benjamin Llernas, 35, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine for sale.

He was booked into the Lompoc City Jail and is being held without bail.
