St. Joseph graduate Analise Riezebos has been named the associate head girls basketball coach at her alma mater, according to a news release the school issued Tuesday.
Riezebos graduated from St. Joseph in 2010. She played for two St. Joseph CIF Southern Section divisional championship teams and was an All-CIF-SS selection twice.
She will assist veteran St. Joseph girls head coach Ed Torres. Riezebos played for teams that won back-to-back sectional divisional championships, in 2009 under Ron Barba and in 2010 under Torres.
Riezebos averaged 15 points and five rebounds a game in 2009 and 12.7 points and 7.6 rebounds a game in 2010.
She attended Chico State on a basketball scholarship, and averaged 8.9 points and 7.5 rebounds a game her senior year there. She started in every game that season.
"I am excited to be returning to my alma mater to coach my favorite sport," Riezebos said in the release. "I am also eager to work with one of the best coaches in the area, Ed Torres. I am so lucky for this opportunity, and can't wait to get on the court."
Torres coached both St. Joseph girls basketball squads that won state championships, and coached four of the six squads that won CIF Southern Section divisional championships.
"We are excited to add Analise to our program as our associate head coach," Torres said in the St. Joseph news release.
"She brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge as a player and coach. Her passion for the game will certainly be a positive influence on our players and program. She is well-respected and an excellent communicator. She understands what it takes to win championships, and I am thrilled that Analise has made her way back home."
The Knights will compete in the CIF Central Section in the 2018-19 school year.
