Susan Jean Hibbits (Hunt), age 76, was born on April 30, 1943, in East Orange, New Jersey to Alfred and Jean Hunt of St. Paul, Minnesota. She passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2019, in Solvang, California.
Susan lived a full life living and traveling around the world with her parents and siblings Marilyn Lorimor and Kendra Champi. She attended high school in Hawaii and the Philippines. She also attended St. Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana, and received a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Theology from Mount St. Mary's in Los Angeles, CA. She enjoyed being a realtor and interior decorator in the Bay Area, and later in life she received a Master's Degree in Special Education from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She retired from being a Kindergarten teacher in Lompoc, California.
She enjoyed collecting treasures from her travels and showcasing these unique items in her home in Lompoc. Susan enjoyed visiting Russia, Philippines, Alaska, Mexico and especially Hawaii with her husband Robert Hibbits of Lompoc, California.
Susan loved reading, working in her beautiful garden and watching her champion Borzoi Moody Blues play in the backyard. Susan loved life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her son Mark Luna and daughter-in-law Rosalinda. She was happiest when she was in the company of her beloved granddaughter Sara Luna of San Jose, California.
Susan is survived by her husband Robert Hibbits, son Mark, daughter-in-law Rosalinda and granddaughter Sara Luna.
A funeral mass will be held at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Lompoc, California, on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service and burial will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, California.
