William "Bill" Willis

William “Bill” Willis 86, went home to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan 27, 2018. Bill was an extraordinary man, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bill was born on Jan 2, 1932 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He met the love of his life, Clare while stationed with the Air Force in England, and made her his lovely bride, as he lovingly called her, on April 7th, 1952. They had five children, Susan, Alana, William Jr. (Jason & Jessica), Debbie (Scott, Tony, Alisha, Trevor, Betsy, and Riley) and Carol (Zeke, Courtney and Paddi). Bill served 20 years in the Air Force and retired after achieving the rank of Chief Master Sergeant in April 1971. Bill then went on to serve 22 more years in Civil Service as Chief of NAF Personnel at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. Known for his charming personality and gift of gab, he was loved by so many both in his private and professional life. Among his many hobbies, he loved fishing, hunting, golf and most importantly traveling with his precious Clare where they adored discovering English tea rooms enjoying a delightful Afternoon High Tea. He is survived by his beautiful bride of nearly 66 years, Clare, their five children, eleven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, his brother and sister in law, Harry and Doreen Lewtas, nieces Karen and Julia, Karen's children Oliver and Patrick, of Warrington, England, and “sister” Edie Faulkner and family, also of Warrington, England. We were all so blessed to have known and loved this man, he is missed beyond comprehension. “Take Care Old Soldier”
