Bethany Hamilton Pro Surfer

Professional surfer and shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton.

Renowned professional surfer and shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton will premier her new documentary Unstoppable at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara on Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m. Following the showing of the film Chief Designer of kathy ireland® Worldwide, Kathy Ireland, will interview Hamilton live on stage.

The film Unstoppable is Hamilton’s complete and untold story that follows her journey from childhood into motherhood — the ups, downs and her powerful resilience against all odds to become one of the leading professional surfers of all time.

At the age of 13, Bethany lost her left arm to a 14-foot tiger shark, which seemed to end her career as a rising surf star. One month after the attack, Bethany returned to the water, and within two years had won her first national title. In 2007, she realized her dream of surfing professionally and since then her story has been told in a New York Times best-selling autobiography and in the 2011 film, Soul Surfer.
