A Santa Maria man has been arrested and charged for alleged child molestation following a monthslong investigation, police announced Thursday afternoon.
Gabriel Peralez Jr., 43, is charged with forcible lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, along with witness intimidation.
Santa Maria Police began an investigation into a potential crime against a child in late 2017, according to officials. Detectives were able to gather enough evidence and sought an arrest warrant for Peralez Jr.
On Monday, Peralez Jr. was located and arrested without incident, and he was booked into custody.
