Hancock students looking for a break from classes got just that Wednesday afternoon during the college's spring semester Bulldog Bow-WOW.
Sponsored by the college’s Associated Student Body Government, the Week of Welcome event gives students the chance to learn about essential college services and connect with professors, student groups and career opportunities before classes kick into full gear. The event drew roughly 1,000 students last year during the third week of the fall semester.
"We have this event every [semester] to promote all the programs and services the college offers," Stephanie Robb, coordinator of student services, said during last fall's Bow-WOW. The event is similar to other Hancock outreach events aimed at informing students of all the college has to offer.
"We want to connect students with the tools that are in place to help them be successful," Robb said.
Wednesday's Bow-WOW featured free music, food and the opportunity to connect with student services and organizations. A similar event will be held at the college's Lompoc Valley campus on Feb. 14, upstairs in Building 1.
