The Lompoc Public Library has been selected to participate in a collaboration with the NASA Library Initiative For Teachers and Students (LIFTS) program, which a city spokesperson said will enable the library to expand its participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education, and provide access to unique NASA resources.
Thanks to the new partnership, the Lompoc Library has already been sent NASA aeronautical books, NASA educational guides, and links to download NASA e-books, along with other online resources for educators.
These online resources can be found on the library’s website at www.cityoflompoc.com/library/nasa_lifts.htm.
The library’s NASA books and educational guides can be located by searching the library’s online catalog at www.blackgold.org, and typing in “NASA Education Guide Collection.” This search will bring up a list of all of the titles available at the library.
The NASA collection is located in the library next to the government documents section. NASA e-books are available for free download at www.nasa.gov/connect/ebooks/index.html.
The city announced the partnership Tuesday.
