Born April 21, 1930, in rural Webster County, Missouri, Betty departed this earthly life the morning of Friday, December 6, 2019, in Lompoc surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was the eldest of twelve children. She was a dedicated wife to Ramon “Ray” Navarro for 60 years, celebrating those 60 years on November 19, 2019. She was the mother to 10 children, 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Betty's biggest joy was being around her family. She loved camping, fishing, crocheting, quilting, Bingo, Canasta, board games, feeding the squirrels, going for walks and collecting antiques.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by siblings David, Lyndon, Jerry, and Jimmy Manar, and Bessie Street Dickson West, Annamae Manar, Barbara Neal, and daughter Patricia Adkins.
Betty is survived by her loving husband Ramon Navarro; siblings George Manar of Nevada, and Bert Manar, Connie Hoagland and Sandra Wood of Missouri; children Fred (Elizabeth) Adkins, Johnny Adkins, Roger Lee Adkins, Randy Adkins, Deborah Adkins Murphy, Angela Sanders, Ramona Guzman, Greg (Amanda) Navarro, and Ray Navarro; grandchildren Kim Lamm, Christy Adkins, Miranda Adkins Carden, Brent Adkins, Joeybeth Wilson, Michelle Simpson, Lindy Holman, Rachel Owens, Claramae Persons, Jason Murphy, Richard Murphy, Gregory Sanders, Farin Gray, Corey Guzman, Erika Navarro, Alex Navarro and Ryan Navarro; 25 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Betty's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or VNA Health.
The memorial service will be held at Trinity Church of the Nazarene on Friday, December 13, 2019, at 10 am followed by interment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. A reception will be in the Trinity Church Family Life Center.
