Cabrillo's undefeated start to the Los Padres League ended Monday at the Morro Bay Golf Course.
Morro Bay beat the Conqs 255-259 to finally get past Cabrillo after consistently placing second this season in league tournaments.
Cabrillo's low scorer was Baylee Gregory with 46 shots, which also won her the individual medal. Her teammates scored: Devan McCune 49, Aubrey Campfield 54, Britney McCune 54 and Gabi Delgado 56.
Morro Bay scored: Alyssa Noriega 47, Kelly Dudley 49, Olivia Sisneros 51, Megan Maize 52 and Taffy Ketchum 56.
Orcutt Academy 276, Santa Maria 320
A young group of Orcutt Academy golfers continues to improve and the Spartans beat Santa Maria on Monday at Rancho Maria Golf Club.
Orcutt won 276-320 with individual medalist Ashley McClung leading the way with a score of 48 shots. Her teammates scored: Sienna Pita 54, Rochelle McClung 55, Anika Graack 59 and Madi Birch 60.
Jessica Estevez had Santa Maria's low score with 60. The rest of the Saints scored: Wendi Hernandez 63, Carmen Salinas 64, Amalia Ramirez 66 and Graciela Santiago 67.
"I’m very pleased with out progress," said Jim McManus, Orcutt's head coach. "We’ve been working on our short game and that was evident today."
St. Joseph forfeits game against Atascadero
The Knights only had four golfers for the matchup against Atascadero at the Chalk Mountain Golf Course, which meant St. Joseph had to forfeit.
But the golfers still went out to play a round. Atascadero's best score was a 43 from Morgan Humphrey. Sara Cassa shot the low score for St. Joseph with a 49.
Ale Ponce 59, Lauren Engel 63 and Camryn Durnin 65 also posted scores for St. Joseph.
"We’re trying to piece a team together," said Jim Fosdick. "Something happens every match. We’re supposed to have all five there tomorrow."
The Knights host Paso Robles on Tuesday at the the Santa Maria Country Club.
