Hancock College baseball camp
The Hancock College baseball program will host two four-day summer youth clinics at its John Osborne Field, June 11-14 and June 18-21.
Clinic sessions run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Registration is underway, and children ages 6 through 13 are eligible.
Parents and guardians are advised to register online at athletics.hancockcollege.edu/camps/baseball camps 2018. The cost is $125 per child and $75 for each additional family member.
Checks are due the first day of camp and should be made payable to Allan Hancock College Baseball.
Instructors will include Hancock coach Chris Stevens, members of his coaching staff and Hancock players. Former Major League pitcher Bryn Smith and other veteran area baseball coaches will also provide tips to campers.

Dignity Health holding free sports physicals
Dignity Health is holding free sports physicals for school athletes on May 17 and 24.
The physicals will be provided by community physicians at the Marian Family Medical Center, located at 1400 E. Church St., Building 8. The physicals are scheduled to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on all three dates. An additional date will be held May 31 if needed.
Students will need to bring a sports physical form provided by their school. Walk-ins are welcome.

First ever Meet and Greet for Lompoc High athletics
Lompoc High will be hosting the school's first-ever "Meet and Greet" for incoming freshmen interested in participating in athletics next school season, new LHS athletic director Claudia Terrones said.
The event takes place on May 21 inside the LHS gym. Terrones adds that parents are also encouraged to attend. Paperwork and other important information will be distributed. The event starts at 7 p.m.
