Olympics hopeful Parker Reynolds, amid the COVD-19 pandemic, has finally found some water to train in.
The water is just not in a pool.
Nico Rocha will leave the country to continue his athletic career. Henry Allen will likely not leave the county to continue his.
Gary West said: "I am saddened for our athletes, and our school, but I also realize that some things are way bigger than sports. We get reminded of that from time to time. I am more concerned with our health and welfare of our students and their families, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally."
With no facilities, there are no players.
Now, "I've been strictly trying to stay in shape riding my bike," said Reynolds. "I rode six miles one day, five the next, nine the next. I've been riding a lot of miles on my bike, with my dad and my uncle. And (SMSC coach Mike Ashmore) also has workouts for us to do while we're out of the water."
Though there were many deserving athletes at the Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Round Table luncheon on Monday, two put fourth performances that rose above the rest.
