Santa Maria Times | Lompoc Record | Santa Ynez Valley News

The 2021 fall football season was one to remember.

It was so memorable because there were so many spectacular individual seasons, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Lompoc had a trio of stars combine on an offense that averaged nearly 44 points a game, though the Braves went just 5-6.

Arroyo Grande had a handful of potent offensive players, though running backs Kaden Tynes and Makai Puga were the two that stood out the most.

Righetti's Ryan Boivin had a solid regular season, then put together a sterling playoff run, scoring six times in four postseason games to deliver Righetti its first CIF football championship.

Across the street at St. Joseph, Makai Sat was dominating the trenches as the Knight offense kept plugging along despite multiple changes at quarterback.

Luke Gildred led Santa Ynez in passing and rushing, leading the Pirates to an 8-3 record in his first season as the team's starter.

Nate Reese did just about everything for Nipomo's offense; passing, running, receiving and kicking for the Titans, who went 7-4.

Now that everything is said and done, the question is this: Who is the area's Offensive Player of the Year? The Santa Maria Times will be publishing its All-Area Team soon, with the All-Area MVP decided by the Times' sports staff. But the Times wants to hear from its readers. Who do they think should be the Offensive Player of Year?

Let's take a look. (Remember, the Times’ All-Area Team features players from northern Santa Barbara County and southern San Luis Obispo County.)

Readers can visit; and to cast their vote for Offensive Player of the Year. The Times will then announce its Offensive Player of the Year and complete All-Area Team.
